Deforestation
Learn about Deforestation and design your own Automated Tree Planter in a whole new way
Students will learn about deforestation and consider potential solutions, including BioCarbon Engineering and planting trees. Students will assess the impacts of human activities and technologies on the environment, and evaluate ways of controlling such impacts. Students will also be provided with guided materials to apply physical computing and coding to design and build their own automated tree seeding machine.
Suggested Grade Levels for Part A (Background and Context Materials): 4-8
Difficulty Level for Part B (Coding and Physical Computing): Intermediate
Please note: This course is designed to be used in conjunction with the InkSmith Climate Action Kit. The Kit contains all the robotic parts and the PCB breakout board needed to complete the project. You will need at least one micro:bit per kit to complete the project, however, the more micro:bits the better.
