Plants and Pollinators
Learn about plants and pollinators then design a wildflower garden and monitoring device.
Students will learn about the process of pollination, pollinators, anatomy of a bee, anatomy of a flower and will be provided with guided materials to build a bee house using Tinkercad. Students will also be provided with guided materials to apply physical computing and coding to create a device that will keep track of the number of pollinator visits in a garden.
Suggested Grade Levels for Part A (Background and Context Materials): 3-8
Difficulty Level for Part B (Coding and Physical Computing): Beginner
Please note: This course is designed to be used in conjunction with the InkSmith Climate Action Kit. The Kit contains all the robotic parts and the PCB breakout board needed to complete the project. You will need at least one micro:bit per kit to complete the project, however, the more micro:bits the better.
