Earn your SPE requirement for your Ontario SHSM program with our interactive, challenge-based learning course.
You'll begin by going behind-the-scenes of InkSmith and the Canadian Shield to understand how our organization operates, viewing our facility through a virtual 360 degree tour and meeting our employees. Next, you'll explore the design thinking process and embark on the challenge to apply it to solve real or hypothetical issues we face at InkSmith and the Canadian Shield that are specific to your sector.
As you progress through the design thinking challenge, you'll gain a combination of critical skills - including innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship (I.C.E), coding, and/or financial literacy - that will help you design your solutions.
You'll also be introduced to the Business Model Canvas and pitch your solution as a potential business venture.
You'll culminate your learning by submitting your solution in a presentation deck that demonstrates your progress and findings at each stage of your design thinking process.
Finally, you will self-assess your learning and upon submission of that, you will receive your SHSM SPE certificate.
